Raashid Hooks has a collective sixteen years of experience working in the menswear industry. As a experienced fitter and cutter Mr. Hooks has worked for both legendary and innovative companies such as Ralph Lauren and Freeman's Sporting Club in New York. From a very early age, Mr. Hooks was drawn to the silhouette of a finely fitted suit. With his earliest inspiration coming from his a father; a soul singer and DJ, he was exposed to the very best in Italian and British fashion early on. When asked about his inspiration Mr. Hooks had this to say:
"I remember going through my father's wardrobe when I was little, he would have rows of incredible suits, sweaters, shirts and he had beautiful shoes as well. I was amazed by it all. My father was a very sharp man. He comes from the era where men were men, he rises with the sun everyday, he works his fingers to the bone and looks great doing it! I'd like to think some of his qualities rubbed off on me, or at least I hope he thinks so."
Mr. Hooks cut his teeth at Ralph Lauren; it was there that he began to truly understand what makes a suit quality and why. But it was the tutelage of cuban master tailor Enrigue Vijande that would bring Mr. Hooks to craftsmanship. In 2013, after many years of honing his skills in both Chicago and New York Mr. Hooks relocated to London with the vision of establishing The Hooks Company atelier in the home of tailoring. An avid fan of English tailoring, Mr. Hooks is extremely proud to offer top quality custom garments all made in England.
